Five dolphins side by side

Dolphin Discovery

Get up close and personal with our dolphins at Dolphin Discovery! At our large viewing windows, you can watch our dolphins swim, interact with our trainers, and play in their free time. Dolphin Discovery resides near the entrance of DC universe past Stingray Bay.

Our pod includes 7 of SFDK’s dolphins. Our 5 males and 2 females range in ages from 10 to 45 years old! As they swim by, you may notice some subtle differences between each dolphin including their unique dorsal fins, faces, and coloration. Dolphins have an adaptation known as “countershading,” like many other marine animals, which means they have darker backs and lighter bellies. This is a form of camouflage they use to blend into their environment and avoid predators. Can you spot the differences between our dolphins?
