NHL Western Conference Playoffs Spark Wager Between Six Flags Parks

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Six Flags St. Louis Show Support for San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues with a Friendly Bet

VALLEJO, Calif. ― May 10, 2019 ― As the San Jose Sharks and the St. Louis Blues prepare to face each other in the NHL Western Conference Playoffs, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Six Flags St. Louis are rooting for their respective local teams with a small wager. At the end of the series, one park will have to make good on a lost bet while the other park celebrates their team’s advancement to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Should the San Jose Sharks lose the series, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will temporarily rebrand their popular Shark Experience exhibit, the St. Louis Blues Experience. Guests will have the unique opportunity to view the sharks amongst signage highlighting fun facts about the St. Louis Blues as well as great moments in St. Louis Blues history. Additionally, Park President Don McCoy has agreed to send a gift basket full of famous Bay Area treats, such as Napa Valley wine, sourdough bread, and Ghirardelli Chocolate to Six Flags St. Louis.

Should the St. Louis Blues lose the series, Six Flags St. Louis will temporarily rename the park’s 4,631-ft wooden roller coaster, The Boss, to Bossy Shark and a group of the park’s employees will sing “Bossy Shark” to the tune of Baby Shark. The video will be posted on the park’s Facebook page. In addition, Park President Phil Liggett will send the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom team a gift of St. Louis favorites including toasted ravioli, gooey butter cake and vertically sliced bagels.

The loser of this bet will keep their temporary signs up for a minimum of one weekend and post proof of the “make good” along with a congratulatory message to the winning team on the park’s Facebook page. Let the games begin…LET’S GO SHARKS!!!
