The Great Escape accepts card payments only at all locations including restaurants, retail stores, games, ticket windows, and parking toll booths. You can either pay for purchases using a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or debit card. Only have cash? You can convert your cash to a prepaid debit card at one of the multiple kiosks located throughout the park, your prepaid card can be used in the park and anywhere in the U.S. where Visa is accepted. We highly encourage you to pre-purchase your parking, tickets, and more online before visiting the park.
- Appropriate swimwear is Guests are not permitted to enter waterpark attractions wearing thongs or transparent bathing suits, regular shorts (including khaki and cargo styles), long pants, street clothes, cut-off shorts, or denim. We reserve the right to determine the appropriateness of swimwear.
- Guests wearing bathing attire with metal buttons, rivets, zippers, or snaps will not be permitted to ride FlowRider, Avalanche or Tube Slides
- Footwear is not permitted on White Water Bay attractions. Aqua socks and aquatic style footwear are permitted on Avalanche and Tube Slides
- Guests requiring special accommodation should speak to a member of the Aquatics management team. Due to attraction manufacturer requirements, some riding restrictions may apply.
- All guests who require a diaper are required to wear a swim diaper or a diaper specifically designed for aquatic use.

- As a general rule, when visiting White Water Bay Guests should avoid clothing that may be considered inappropriate for our family-friendly environment. Clothing and visible tattoos that depict violence, nudity, vulgarity, or discriminatory language or graphics are prohibited.
To ensure the safest experience for all guests during their visit, the following rules are in effect. We appreciate your cooperation in this regard.
- Attractions may have specific height, weight, and safety requirements. Please refer to the Safety Guide sign posted at each attraction to make an informed decision as to whether the attraction is right for you.
- Please refrain from running, horseplay, and other boisterous activities.
- Glassware and similar material with a tendency to shatter on impact are not permitted in Castaway Bay
- For safety reasons, diving is not permitted at any attraction.
- White Water Bay is a smoke-free environment.
- Keep an eye on your young children. Children should not be left unattended at any time.
- Please secure all loose articles, including hats, glasses, and jewelry when riding. Cameras, cell phones and video recording devices may not be used on any slide or in any changing area or restroom.
- Water toys and inflatable assists are not permitted. Whistles are not permitted in White Water Bay Waterpark.
- Masks and snorkels are not permitted on any water attraction.
- Hearing devices or any other electronic devices may be damaged by water. Please take the necessary steps to protect such items.
- According to crowd size, time at the water attractions and access to White Water Bay Waterpark may be limited.
White Water Bay is committed to providing all of our guests with an enjoyable visit. Guests with disabilities are encouraged to visit our accessibility guide for detailed information on the requirements of each attraction, along with the programs that White Water Bay Waterpark offers.
Upon your arrival to White Water Bay Waterpark, we recommend selecting a meeting place such as the Waterpark Towel Table, in the event you or your child become lost or separated from your party. Please alert an associate if your child becomes separated, as public address pages cannot be broadcast inside White Water Bay Waterpark. Children who are separated from their parties will be taken to the Supervisor’s Office located next to Birch Bark Grill.
For your convenience, lockers are located just inside the waterpark, across from the restrooms. Various locker sizes are available for personal belongings. Locker rentals are automated and may be paid using Credit and Debit Cards. The lockers work with electronic pin codes and will allow unlimited access throughout the day. Locker access is available until White Water Bay Waterpark is closed for the evening. All lockers will be cleared out each night when Castaway Bay Waterpark closes. Castaway Bay cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items. Lockers at White Water Bay are not transferable to or from Great Escape Theme Park and Hurricane Harbor.
Life jackets are available for use throughout White Water Bay Waterpark. Life jackets are complimentary and are available to any guest wishing to use one. Children, first-time swimmers, and weaker swimmers are encouraged to wear a life jacket. Some attractions require guests below a specific height to put on a life jacket before participating in the attraction. Aquatics staff and lifeguards reserve the right to impose the use of life jackets as needed. For specific attraction requirements, please visit our accessibility guide. Guests are permitted to wear their own life jacket; however, it must be Coast Guard approved.
Our Aquatics Staff are here to ensure that you have a safe and pleasant visit. First Aid and waterpark supervisors are available throughout the area should you have any questions or need assistance. Please follow all lifeguard rules and instructions, but do not talk to or distract lifeguards while they are on duty.
In an effort to provide a safe and enjoyable waterpark experience for our guests, White Water Bay Waterpark routinely utilizes training exercises to improve our lifeguards’ skills and vigilance. These exercises will occur during normal operating hours and may consist of the following: submersible water manikins, the use of video surveillance equipment, internal and external audits, active/inactive water rescues and/or first aid scenarios.
If you happen to lose an item or leave an item behind while visiting, please drop by the White Water Bay towel table during normal operating hours. After hours, please visit the Great Escape Lodge Front Desk. If you’ve already left the park, please fill out a lost and found form.

Alcoholic beverages may be purchased by Guests 21 years of age or older. Proper ID is required to purchase and/or consume alcohol.
No alcoholic beverages can be brought into Six Flags Parks. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the park must be consumed before leaving the park. Guests who are intoxicated may be removed from the park without refund. Six Flags Great Escape reserves the right to take further action against impaired guests where appropriate.
We expect all guests to behave in a family-friendly manner. Any line jumping, profanity and unruly behavior are considered offensive to other park guests and could result in ejection from the park without a refund. Saving a spot in line is not permitted and/or bypassing others. If you exit the line and choose to return you must go to the back of the line if you choose to return.
Guests visiting The Great Escape with an arm or leg cast may be restricted from enjoying some of our attractions. Casts are not permitted on any slide in Hurricane Harbor. Waterproof casts are permitted in Adventure River, Hurricane Bay and the pools at Buccaneer Beach and Splashwater Island.
To ensure all guests visiting Six Flags Great Escape can enjoy their visit, and in keeping with our family-friendly environment, as well as for health and safety reasons, Six Flags Great Escape maintains and enforces a dress code. Guests should dress casually and comfortably as is appropriate for the local weather. All guests must wear proper attire, such as shirts/tops, shorts/pants, and footwear, at all times within the theme park.
Guests should wear a cover-up or shirt/top and shorts/pants over their bathing suits while enjoying the theme park.
As a general rule, when visiting Six Flags Great Escape, Guests should avoid clothing that may be considered inappropriate for our family-friendly environment. Clothing and visible tattoos that depict violence, nudity, vulgarity, or discriminatory language or graphics are prohibited at all times. Clothing may not be turned inside out as a solution.
Six Flags Great Escape reserves the right to deny admission to or remove anyone whose attire does not comply with the Guest Dress Code or could detract from the experience of other guests if the Guest refuses all reasonable options. Guests requiring accommodations to our Guest Dress Code should visit Guest Relations and speak to a member of the Park management team upon arrival at Six Flags Great Escape.
Food, beverages, coolers and grills may not be brought into the theme park. The only food exceptions are for food allergies as described below and infant food, in non-glass jars. The use of grills and open flames, are strictly prohibited, in and around the property, including parking lots.
Food Allergies
Guests who suffer from sensitivities or life-threatening allergies may bring food into the park if they do not feel comfortable with the menu options available. In this case, the food must be limited to the individual with the allergy and may contain: two sealable sandwich bags (7×8 inches) and one snack to accommodate their visit (such as a piece of fruit, or a fruit bar, or a snack that fits in a sandwich bag). One small soft-sided cooler may be brought into the park to carry these items. No outside beverages are permitted. Please see Security at screening to receive a medical sticker.
Please walk at all times. Do not sit or stand on fences or railings.
For your safety, certain rides may need to close during severe weather, such as electrical storms, heavy rain, or high winds. Most restaurants and shops will remain open. Rides will re-open as soon as safe operations can be assured. Refunds and rain checks are not offered for inclement weather.
Guests should not use profanity or abusive language, symbols or gestures towards other guests and our team members. Guests who do so may be ejected from the park without refund.
Line jumping is strictly prohibited. Guests who choose to leave a line for any reason may not return to the same spot and must reenter at the end of the line. Guests are not permitted to save spots for other guests. Violators will be ejected without a refund.
Loose articles are not permitted in certain ride queue lines or on any of our rides. Guests may leave items in a locker or with a non-rider. Ride attendants are not responsible for articles left on any ride dock. Six Flags Great Escape and its team members are not responsible for personal property that is lost, missing or stolen. Items left unattended outside of ride entrances will be considered abandoned and will be discarded.
Six Flags Great Escape is committed to Protecting the Fun by providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests. To help us fulfill our commitment, we ask that you honor this Code of Conduct. We expect all guests to behave in a family-friendly manner.
The following are not permitted at Six Flags Great Escape and may result in removal from the park without a refund.
- Firearms, ammunition, knives and weapons of any kind. Self-defense or restraining devices (e.g., pepper spray, mace).
- Fireworks or other similarly explosive and/or flammable objects, smoke machines or fog machines.
- Smoking, vaping, and products that produce vapor or smoke. Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated smoking areas.
- Clothing with offensive language, obscene gestures/graphics, or nudity.
- Clothing that does not sufficiently cover undergarments. Face coverings that conceal identity. (This policy does not apply to masks meant to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and other germs.)
- Family-oriented themed outfits/attire are permitted. Costumes that conceal identity are prohibited. Rides and attractions may also have additional restrictions on attire.
- Unruly or disruptive behavior that interferes with guests’ enjoyment of the park including running, the incitement of running, and blocking midways and exits.
- Acts or behavior that park management deems to be a safety concern or that interrupts park operations or guests’ experience.
- Harassing/threatening behavior, sexual misconduct, or lewd behavior including inappropriate interaction with park guests or associates.
- Fighting or physical aggression of any kind, including verbal assaults.
- Offensive language or gestures.
- Conduct deemed by Six Flags Great Escape to be inappropriate for the peace and good order of the park, guests, or associates, and which may adversely affect the safety of others.
- Theft of any kind.
- Selling Park tickets, credentials, and other entitlements, or soliciting and distributing literature not sponsored by the park except where otherwise approved.
- Refusing to follow verbal or printed instructions or cooperate with park personnel or security.
- Entering restricted areas including but not limited to attraction Danger Zones and behind-the-scenes areas. If you lose an item, report it to the Ride Attendant or Lost and Found.
- Unsolicited photography or video recording that disrupts a guest’s experience or interferes with park operations. Filming, regardless of device, secured or unsecure, is prohibited on most rides and attractions.
Guests are encouraged to report any violations of the Guest Code of Conduct or suspicious activity to the nearest Security associate.
Six Flags Great Escape reserves the right to revise or modify this Code of Conduct with or without notice.
NOTICE TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: TEENS/CHILDREN
Parents or guardians are responsible for the behavior of their minor children. Appropriate behavior and supervision are the responsibility of the parent/guardian and is always expected. We strongly recommend that minors (under 18) be accompanied by an adult. The park does not assume any responsibility or liability for unattended minors. Parents/guardians may be held legally liable for all acts of the children under their care.
Six Flags Great Escape welcomes guests with their service animals. At all times guests should maintain control of their service animal through restraint (e.g. leash/harness), voice, signal or other effective controls. Relief areas are available for your service animal at select locations throughout the park.
Animals that do not meet the definition of a service animal will not be permitted in the park.
Once they enter the park, Guests grant Six Flags Great Escape the right to film, video, record or photograph them on park property without payment or consideration.
Guests may take photos and video while enjoying the park, but Six Flags requests that such photos or videos be used for their personal use and enjoyment only. No commercial photography of any kind is permitted without the written consent of Six Flags.
The use of the following equipment is strictly prohibited:
- Cameras mounted to a vehicle, drone, cart, scooter, or other moving object.
- No cameras of any kind are allowed on any rides and any time. No Exceptions.
All Six Flags rides, shows and attractions are protected by copyright. Guests must have written permission from an authorized representative of Six Flags to use photographs and/or videos of Six Flags images for commercial broadcasting, advertising, marketing or publishing in any medium.
In addition to items identified in our Guest Code of Conduct and other park policies, the following are prohibited items:
- Firearms, ammunition, knives and weapons of any kind.
- Mace/pepper spray and other self-defense or restraining devices.
- Marijuana (including marijuana enriched products) or any illegal substance.
- Fireworks or other similarly explosive and/or flammable objects.
- Spiked clothing/jewelry.
- Lawn/folding chairs.
- Glass bottles (excluding small containers such as baby food jars).
- Spray paint/markers.
- Recreational devices such as drones, remote controlled devices, laser pointers, scooters, skateboards and shoes with built-in wheels.
- Selfie sticks, monopods and similar hand-held extension poles for cameras. or mobile devices
Some rides and shows will close temporarily during electrical storms, heavy rains, high winds, and other severe weather conditions. As soon as conditions permit safe operation, these attractions will re-open. The Great Escape does not issue rain checks or refunds.
Passholders must present their passes to enter the park. Passholders who leave the park and plan to return must get a re-entry stamp before they leave the park. When guests return to the park, they must enter through the re-entry gate with a proper stamp. Transferring a re-entry wristband is a violation of Six Flags policies and is strictly prohibited.
Guests are strictly prohibited from entering restricted areas, including ride and backstage areas. Guests should contact the Ride Attendant or Lost and Found/Security to report lost items. Lost personal items will not be retrieved during operating hours. Guests must not attempt to retrieve their lost items. Guests who enter a restricted area may be ejected from the park without refund. Six Flags Great Escape reserves the right to take further action where appropriate.
Safety is our number one priority. Guests with certain body proportions, or of certain heights and/or weights may not be able to enjoy certain rides if the safety restraints will not operate as designed. Specific ride information is available at the ride and at Guest Relations. For your convenience, a one-time height check is available at Hospitality.
There is an inherent risk in participating in any amusement ride. We expect riders to exercise good judgement and act in a responsible manner. Guests must also obey all oral and written warnings and properly use ride safety equipment provided. Guests that do not comply with ride rules may be ejected from the park without refund. Please read the specific guidelines posted at each entrance of the rides.
Selfie sticks, monopods, and similar devices are not allowed inside The Great Escape.
Six Flags maintains a smoke-free environment, except for designated smoking areas which are identified on park maps. All other areas in the parks, including ride queue lines, are smoke-free. E-cigarettes may only be used in designated smoking areas. Six Flags prohibits smoking marijuana at any time, even in designated smoking areas.
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests, The Great Escape prohibits the operation or use of any unmanned aerial vehicles on, from, or above The Great Escape premises absent specific written consent. This includes all UAVs, also commonly known as “drones,” regardless of their size, weight or purpose.
Please be considerate of other guests. Offenders will be ejected from the park without a refund.
